Botswana "the Zebras" beat the visiting Tanzania 4-2 in an international at the National Stadium in Gaborone on Tuesday.
The two teams used the match to prepare for the next stage of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers starting in mid- July.
Botswana have been drawn against Guinea Bissau while Tanzania will play Mozambique in a two-legged encounter to reach the group stages of the qualifiers.
The host started the match looking the better of the two sides by creating a few goalscoring opportunities even though none materialised into a goal.
The visitors however found their rhythm halfway through the first half and started challenging Botswanan goalkeeper Kabelo Dambe. Tanzania managed to break the deadlock on the 36th minute through Camissa Cammisa, who volleyed in from close range after Botswana defence failed to clear a set piece.
Botswana responded swiftly four minutes later with Jerome Ramatlhakwana heading in an equaliser. The match went for halftime tied at 1-1.
Botswana coach Peter Butler made some tactical changes after halftime and the move paid dividends immediately with Lemponye Tshireletso putting Botswana on the lead in the 48th minute. Botswana then continued pressurising the visitors' by creating multiple chances.
Bonolo Phuduhudu scores Botswana's third goal in the 68th minute before Kabo Phiri scored the fourth in the 75th to put the game beyond Tanzania's reach. Tanzania managed to pull one back when James Bokho converted from the penalty spot on the 85th minute.
Botswana will continue with preparations until July 19th when they welcome Guinea Bissau. / (Xinhua).
